A First!

Today is Memorial Day! So we celebrated with our first out-of-doors meal.

And it was fun! It always is. For some reason, eating dinner outside after it was cooked outside is just so very right, ya know?

Of course, there were some kinks to be worked out, since this is a new-to-us-house.

For example: The deck is downright terrifying for this mama to have her babies on. It's a bit broken, and it's a bit wide in the slats, and a bit high. Therefore:


The baby gate mostly kept my children from plunging to their deaths and also offered a bit of comfort to my heart. That helped.



Kababs tend to be our thing. My boys will eat ANYTHING you cook on a stick. Derek is the grill MASTER!



And eat they did. (If you look carefully at the above picture, you can clearly see that Ezra is nearly choking to death on water melon. I noticed AFTER I took the picture.)


And  there ya go. I think it makes Summer OFFICIAL!
