You know what is scary?
Going into your kids' room at 2am only to find that one of them is MISSING.
Yes, MISSING.
I had that fun experience last night. Oliver was fussing so I went in to check on him, and saw that Henry's bed was EMPTY. He wasn't on the floor or under the bed.
He wasn't in my room.
He wasn't in the loft.
He wasn't in the living room, kitchen or garage (Heaven help us.)
He wasn't in the bathroom.
I was trying, at this point, to NOT panic.
But where the h-e-double-hockey-sticks was my kid?
I mean, WHERE?
In my panicked state, I flipped on the light (effectively waking up Oliver) to find Henry and Spencer spooning in Spencer's toddler bed.
My heart rate returned to normal and I moved Henry back to his bed.
And then I went back to bed.

I'm not laughing at you... I'm laughing WITH you. seriously my kids have done it and its more than enough to make me panic. That and with our new bed the bedframe is so high I couldnt find 2 of the kids one time and had no clue where they had gone i was afraid they'd ran outside and shut the door behind them.. nope they were under my bed asleep....
Totally there with you!
How scary indeed!!! And spooning ... i'm so sorry Morgan, but that's just about the cutest thing i've ever heard!!! What a perfect ending to such a freaky situation ... =)
That has happened to me a few times and it is always heart stopping because it always seems that they find a new place to be. So, next time you lose a kid, you'll look for a spooner, and he won't be there, he'll be somewhere ELSE. Ah the unending joys of motherhood!
Wow, that is scary, funny, and adorable all at once!
Tht has happened before to me and it is very scary. So glad you found your little dear.
