A revolving door...

For the past month or more, we've been priviledged to host many, MANY relatives and guests. It's been wonderful.

Specifically, much was planned for and anticipated in the month of April. I have been planning the arrival of Oliver for a very long time, and much of the "after" stuff too, such as a visit from my mom, and our dear friend Alice, who we love so much she may as well be my sister. Add in surprise visits from my brother and Derek's parents and well, it's been a happy, busy two weeks.
My brother and his BFF, Lexi visiting from Utah.

So, it's been a busy, happy two weeks.

And now...

what?

Real life.

But, trouble is, I don't know what that means! I've never had three kids before. What do I do with them all?

And, now, I have nothing to look forward to. SOOOOO much effort and energy went into planning Oliver's birth, which was PERFECT. Done now. And then anxiously awaiting visitors, done now.

Normally, at this point in the year, I'm full-swing into planning theater camp, and a year ago, I was doula-ing like a crazy woman. No theater camp this year. No doula clients.

Sigh. Tomorrow, my excitement consists of getting out the box of my clothes and putting away maternity clothes. Not that anything is going to fit, but heck, it's motivation. :)

But, still, three beautiful children, happy and (mostly) healthy. We'll be all right. I'm going to start packing boxes soon. We still don't know where we're moving to, but we're relocating, regardless.

Wish me luck with real life!

I sincerely hope for the sake of the Donhowes (and those who may be considered honorary Donhowes) that Derek gets the STOUT job and we can all live happily ever after in WI.

That's always the hardest time (with or without a new baby), after all the stuff you've been planning for and looking forward to is over. Such a let down. Maybe it will help a teeny tiny bit if I tell you that there's a decent chance that you may have some more visitors end of June or July. If we're invited, that is. :)

Whew, that makes me tired just thinking about it. Good luck with the whole three kids thing!

Honey chile,
You deserve a break! So take it while you can. Pretty soon Ollie will be up and moving around and then you really don't have time to breathe. So pack a box or two and enjoy the quiet time, such as it is.

Believe me, in the lull between storms there is much peace and rejuvenating to do!
