If you ever get the chance...

To ask a three year old where babies come from. DO IT!

Henry KNOWS the baby is in "Mommy's tummy" but when asked how you get the baby OUT, he declared, with great conviction:

"Daddy goes through the tunnel, to the airport and gets on an airplane. He goes FAAARRRRR away. Then, the baby comes home!"

Yup. No clue how he jumps from "Baby in mommy" to "Baby on an airplane." But at three years old I'm cool with that.

Actual "how the baby gets out" conversations can wait. Right?

Evan totally surprised me last week by asking how the baby is going to get out of mommy's tummy. (I was expecting the question at some point but didn't think it would come for at least a couple of months.) He was not sfully atisfied with my explanation that babies come out of special holes that mommies have. He had several follow-up questions and now likes to talk all about how and where the baby is going to come out. Gotta love three-year-olds.

Yeah, Henry never asked. He is so smart he figured it all out by himself. HAHAH! I'll have to clarify someday...

Mikelle asked me how the baby gets out, I told her I'll push it out, she thought about it but never said anything else about it. I too am in no hurry to explain all that to my 3 year old.

Hey Morgan, I love hearing about what your boys have to say...hilarious! BTW, I also love the quote on your page about not saying stupid things to pregnant women...I almost pee-ed my myself laughing and its so true!

What am I supposed to tell him while baby is coming out of your tummy??? That you had to go with Daddy on the airplane?!?!?!
Love you!

Hahaha, Kelsey has a very valid question there. Cute story for now, complicated--yet still cute potential.

That was smart to ask your kid the questions first, istead of waiting for them to ask you the questions. Good idea Morgan! Way to think ahead!

Yeah, way to put Kelsey in an awkward position. Of course, will they think the giant tub is a swimming pool for them in the living room?

Hmmm...Ella's too sly...I think she knows. In fact, after having Maiya, Ella would crouch down and look under me, as if wanting to understand how the baby came out. I once asked her where babies come from, and she said "from your bum" (which in our house means anything from the rear to the front)! Hahaha!!
