Homeschool 21st Century Style

(doing their reading class on the computer)

One of the coolest things about homeschooling in this day and age is that it's not done in a vacuum. Well, I suppose it COULD be done that way, if you so choose, but we don't so choose.

Every morning, my boys hop on the computer and connect with other kids, live, as their reading teacher guides them through the basics. There is hand-raising, participating and reading over the microphone.

It's not exactly like traditional school of course (if that was the case, wouldn't we just use traditional school?) but it's great. It's collaborative and fun. I love it.

We're facing the reality that next year our beloved school  may not be available to us because it's not offered in New Hampshire, and so we're trying to figure out what to do with ourselves. I'm just bummed because we've loved being a part of this experience, and it will be sad to forgo it.

Darn you New Hampshire. DARN YOU!

Connections Academy? We love it, but will have to give it up if we move to FL.
