A Security Ball

This cute little dude of mine just kills me. He's SO funny and so sure of himself and what he wants and needs. It cracks us up all day. Except during tantrum time... but whatever.

Ezra has a very strong sense of likes and dislikes. I encourage you to try this out sometime, by offering him something green and healthy to eat. He *may* try it, but I assure you, it will not be swallowed.

One thing he does loves is balls. Oh my. He loves to play with any ball at all, except footballs. But I mean, can you blame him? They don't look like any other kind of ball! He throws with remarkable aim and strength, can catch and shoot baskets.

Our retirement is based on him having some sort of professional ball career, you see.

In short, Ezra is obsessed.

The other night, he insisted on being put to bed with this small, spiky vinyl/rubber ball. Never one to argue at bedtime, I allowed it. And he fell asleep cuddling it.

And the next nap time and bed time, same.

Naturally, this called for a sewing project. And dun-dun-dun-dun-duuunnnn!

This was born:

A squishy soft ball, just right for cuddling. No stinking teddy bears needed here. His security item is a flannel/minky ball. And Ez does love it. It bounces a bit, which is fun, and snuggles up just right. He falls asleep every night hugging it.

A mom-win for sure!
