My life is full of sweet baby giggles, warm sunshine *finally* and kidlets, always kidlets.
Happiness.
So much of motherhood is tedious, difficult, and messy. But oh my, there are moments when I think, "Why did I sign up for this?" Like today when my five-year-old threw a tantrum like a two-year-old...
But then they kiss my and "lub" me and tell me they "thanks" for dinner, and help me with the laundry and well, I'm back again.
Back in the moment.
Back to absorbing the moments because dang it all they keep growing.
Back to answering unanswerable questions, back to kissing their faces until they laugh, back to teaching them what they want to learn.
Back to being their mother, voluntarily, whole-heartedly. Blessedly.
I chose this. This life, this place, this moment.
But, do you think, maybe, back, once upon a time, before we can remember, maybe, just maybe, we chose each other? Back then?
I think we did. And it takes my breath away.

I just have to ask. I see a plastic fork and paper plate...are those dishes still in your sink? =)
HAHAHA! No! This picture is at my mom's house for her birthday party a couple of weeks ago. HAHAH! That's hilarious. :)
I recall that when a couple I know got sealed they were told that their children chose them. Does that ring a bell? :)
I love you guys!
Amber! Thanks for reminding me! They really ought to transcribe weddings for the couple. It'd be so cool to have!
I'll have to remember your words the next time I'm picking up a sticky mess or dealing with a 6 year old temper tantrum! It's so true, they keep growing. My oldest is going into HIGH SCHOOL this fall - hard to believe!
Tonya! High School, oh how exciting! And scary!
I was really touched by this post, it blessed me to read it this morning...
I'm going BACK to being in the moment too...
Sofia- I'm so glad!
