Summertime!

It has gone from cool and rainy to HOT. For some reason, 80 degrees feels much too hot. I mean, I lived in Vegas for almost two years, and it was 80 degrees in the winter.

So why am I so hot?

When it was rainy, the boys were miserable. One day, Henry cried out in sadness, "MOMMY! Why did we move here? It rains EVERY DAY!"

Poor dear.

But now, now that's warm, it's a challenge to keep them from hosing each other off at every available moment.

To be clear, I want my boys to run and play and heck, even spray themselves off with the hose, but not so much when they are fully clothed. I just don't have the gumption for all that laundry.

No, I do not.

I am constantly doing laundry, so when they get three drips on themselves and demand new clothing, I just think to myself, "WHY?!? WHY ME?"

Last week we were to go to dinner with my grandparents, a sister, a brother-in-law, my parents... etc (You get the idea). And moments before we walked out the door to eat, the boys appeared, wet to the bone.

Again.

"We need new pants!" Henry declared.

"We need new shirts!" Spencer countered.

"Not a chance!" I said.

So, we loaded them up and had a lovely dinner, wet children and all. The restaurant people didn't notice. But my grandmother did. I should have been ashamed. But I wasn't.

Although, I now have discovered I'm happier about the whole situation when I am preemptive. See? The answer is so simple. You've probably figured it out by now.

Swim suits.

And the world begins spinning on it's axis again.

Thank goodness.

My girls are currently forbidden to go outside. Why? Because they are RED AS LOBSTERS from me letting them run around in the sun last weekend (WITH sunscreen, even)! Ugh...by the way...Walmart has an AWESOME big inflatable swimming pool for $15...I would so recommend it (because your boys probably don't get nearly as burned as mine)!!

You drove by my house? I got no such texts or missed calls. What happened? My cell # is still 559-232-2951.
