A post that is not about Father's Day

Nope, indeed it is not. I do love my father, I'm thankful for him and I'm glad he is my dad. I'm awful glad my husband is my children's father.

But that is not what I am writing about today.

Sorry.

I am writing, instead about the summer solstice.

It bugs.

I mean, summer is great n' all. Fun and whathaveyou.. But come on, light until 9:30 pm? What is this, Alaska?

My children find the whole, "Why is it NIGHTIME when it's still DAYTIME?" fiasco to be quite confusing.

I am annoyed by the sun shining down upon me by 5:40 every morning. I AM TRYING TO SLEEP!

See? I can't win, with the day light. I do not like day light savings of any kind, including natural occuring kinds that mess up my schedule.

So there.

Happy Summer Solstice everyone. I am going to go hide in my room with the blackout curtains.

:)

Hehehee...yes...the Alaska problem was tricky...hehehee. Blackout blinds were the only solution for our midnight sundowns, and 3am sunups! Good luck!

Yes, I know what you mean. "Why do I have to go to bed it's still light outside?" and then waking up at 5:30. Blackout curtains are a must!

That hiding with blackout curtains is NOT what you told me (your mom) that you'd be doing for the solstice. Your original plan involved a fire pit, the neighbors, wild dancing and a bit of other 'looseness'.

Haha, about your mom's comment. SAME issue here with my kids. Can't go to bed because the "sun is still out!!" And wake up at the wee morning hours because "the sun is out!" Can't win. I'm exhausted. I may need to look into those curtains.
