Nighttime

I am NOT going to talk about packing?

Don't cry. I'm certain I'll return to everyone's favorite subject very very soon.

Nope. Today I am talking about.... (drum roll OF COURSE!)

Nighttime.

I think nighttime is a farce. Don't you?

Remember that Dove commercial? You know the one about night time body wash or lotion or something or other? It was a dad sleeping away, and mom UP and Down UP and DOWN UP and DOWN all night long? Babies in the bed, on the floor, to the bathroom?

Remember?

Am I making this up?

Anyway, that is my life.

I adore my children as any good mother must, but seriously. NIGHTTIME.

Why is it that the children are incapable of just SLEEPING?

I had a birth the other night and was therefore TIRED last night when it was finally time to go to bed.

And don'tchaknow those darn kids had other plans.

Henry had a bad dream.

Oliver was starving at 3am.

The only kid I can ever count on to go to sleep and LEAVE ME ALONE is Spencer. Spencer is my favorite today. That kid has been sleeping through the night since he was 13 months old and has NEVER looked back.

So how come my four year old is incapable of sleeping through the night? He'd rather come into my room, pillow and blanket in tow, wake me up and then huddle on the floor for hours than just roll over and go back to sleep?

And Oliver. Grr Oliver. He SOMETIMES sleep through and other times decides he'd rather make me MISERABLE.

Where is Derek is all this?

Well. He is a heavy sleeper.

Boo, I totally get you. YOur dad could sleep through WWIII and I can a hear a baby burping 4 doors away. It's a guy vs. girl thing. The only thing I know for sure is that women can go all day on less sleep than men. A sleep-deprived man is usually more difficult than anything.

I wont complain.. I'm lucky I know it. Tod gets up with the kids and *I* sleep. Infact its been happening so long i can block out most noises from the kids knowing he will deal with it. If I do hear them i just ask him to go see what they need and he does. Now when he's not home and I have to listen for them I have no problem doing so.

I feel your pain. For the most part, my kids sleep, BUT when one wakes up with leg aches/ bad dream/ extreme thirst the other wakes up an hour later and keep me up all night?! Ken is oblivious to it all, until I punch him in the back.

hmm..same situation here--E is my horrible sleeper--still sneaks into my bed or wakes up nightly w/ bad dreams. But thankfully G almost always sleeps through the night-in his crib!!

I so hear you on this right now. Asher is on a mission to cause me to have a mental breakdown from sleep deprivation. He's pretending he's a newborn and waking up every 2-3 hours all night long. Grrrr!
