Or really, just hooky-ing, since we have a legitimate reason. Spencer, Oliver and I are skipping church today. We have been doing this all month.. Seriously. I am a good little church-goes most of the time, but until all the snot flying around our house clears up, I'm not sending Spencer to nursery where he'll bring home the swine flu. SERIOUSLY!
So, instead, I showered and tried to nap, but then Spencer woke up an hour sooner than I wanted, so,he's been watching Curious George on a loop off of TIVO and I've been sitting on the couch, feeding Oliver and trying to keep a bad headache at bay. Right now, Spencer is playing with a bandaid, and he couldn't be more thrilled.
And, while I'm rambling, Oliver, my little one whom I brought forth, wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a moses basket, because Spencer is still in the crib, spits up more than any human I have ever seen.
He is a fountain. It doesn't seem to be reflux because he's gaining well and is very content. That leaves the non-diagnosis of "something I'm eating" or he's just "a happy spitter." He may be happy, but he is also wet and slightly smelly ALL THE TIME. And therefore, I am wet and slightly smelly ALL THE TIME. I can't figure out what in my diet he wouldn't care for. I don't eat much diary (read that, almost none) and who doesn't love popcorn in their breastmilk??? So, for the time being, I just keep getting spewed on, and he keeps eating and growing and growing and spitting. He'll be three weeks tomorrow, and I tell you, this morning, when I was dressing him in outfit #1 (we're only on to outfit #2 now, that's pretty good...) I swore he's bigger than yesterday. Literally, he grew overnight. Sweet little man.
Derek and Henry should return from church shortly. Perhaps next week, when we're all well, we'll venture that way too. I'm missing it, surprisingly, so we probably will. This is the longest I have ever taken off from church in my life! Wow. It's a record. But, not a good one...

Playing hooky here too. Andrew was up ALLLLLL night. I'm not sure if I would prefer that to spitting up. lol.
I sort of played hooky... went to sacrament metting then to work...
Just so ya know it could still be reflux. Kyleigh had it and she was a good weight gainer too no problems there she was smaller and stayed small but she gained good. And I told you how much she spit up. THOUGH.... It could just be an how much he's eating issue too because really he isnt fussy or anything after he eats. Kyleigh was. I think some babies are just spitter upppers no matter what you do.
Yeah, it could still be reflux. Diego was a happy little chunk, gaining weight normally, and he definitely had reflux. My doc never put him on meds. He said they grow out of it on their own, and although meds would make my life a tad bit easier, it wasn't necessary since the reflux didn't hurt him. So for a long 8 months, I carried AT LEAST 5 burp rags and bibs with me at all times, and several changes of clothes. One thing that helps a little (if it turns out to be reflux), is to keep them in kind of an upright, sitting position for awhile after they eat, and to take a little longer than normal burping them. Ugh, I feel for you, though, it's definitely gross, lol.
