A Photo Essay

of our Easter celebrations.

To be clear, I had zero intentions of doing much for Easter. But, yesterday, I was sitting around feeling sorry for myself for absolutely no reason other than that I'm slightly post-partum, and decided the best cure for completely baseless baby-blues was EGG DYING! So, we went and got eggs and coloring and did eggs. We did kid eggs and and grown-up eggs.

Here are the boys:

And then, because my children are being WEIRD and all acty-outy (must be the new sibling, or the allergies, or the colds...) we didn't do Easter presents until after church at 4:00. And because the Easter Bunny bought all the presents in January on Christmas clearance, none of them fit in the baskets. So, the Easter Bunner just wrapped the presents. And the Easter Bunny couldn't find the scotch tape, nor did the Easter Bunny care, so masking it was.

And the Easter Bunny got two scooters off Craig's List back in February. Those were a hit. Spencer's not so good, but this way they don't fight.

And then we had Monte Cristo sandwiches, which have HAM in them, so it totally counts as an Easter dinner.

And that was that.

Seeing Spencer in his little beanie just made my day. I am so happy that he will wear that thing even in the warm weather. That just made me smile so much. Those silk eggs are amazing too. I need to find out how you did them. You guys are so amazing.

I had every intention of doing silk eggs (did you see them on Best Bites?) but that would require way more work than I wanted to invest. Plus I had inlaws remember....fun fun fun!!!!

Boo, sounds like a terrific Easter. I'm so out of it, I don't even know what silk eggs are. They look fabulous. Those scooters look like lots of fun. Over all, I'm with Oliver! Hope your mom's visit goes well, I just put her on the plane. Take good care of her for me. Much love to all.

Did Mom get a SUBSTITUTE? For how long?! I am AMAZED!!!!
And,when I called yesterday-why did no one mention that mom was going to Vegas? (JOSH! These are the kinds of things you mention when I say "So, what are you guys up to?! You are such a boy...)

Sarah- Yes those are the very ones. It was so cool!

Dad- We cut up 100% silk ties and wrap the eggs with them, then boil, and viola, the pattern transfers.

Erin- It's spring break. Mom didn't need a sub. And talking to Josh on the phone is... basically useless.

Congratulations on the birth of your little guy. He is adorable and looks like he belongs. I'm glad things went well with you. Take care and let everyone wine and dine you for a while.
