Being a Stay-at-home mom

Today, I had the priviledge of showing someone who is NOT a stay-at-home-mom the wonders that is staying-at-home-ness.

Uncle Cory goes home tomorrow, but in the meantime, Derek had to go to work today, so Cory got to stay home and live my life. Poor guy.

He discovered that really, it's not that super-duper stimulating. Three year olds and 19 month olds are WONDERFUL little people, but really... not the best at intelligent conversations.

Laundry, diapers, dishes, naps, potty accidents, playgrounds, etc etc. EXCITING!

And in true man-fashion, Cory honestly admitted that while it was nice for a day, he'd rather be at work. :)

But, truly, what does it say about me? I am literally NEVER bored at home with my kids. I'm busy, but not with deep, important tasks, just motherly, wifely things. I acknowledge that it's NOT brillant work, but still.

I have a college degree, I've worked in business, theater, birth, and yet my favorite job is homemaking? Really?

Weird. I'm a total feminist (in a good way...) but still. Give me smushy baby kisses and playdates any day. I love it.

Like I said. Weird.

I dont know. I actually might like spending more time with children (as long as they werent satan children) than at work. Well at work i kind of work with children. But oh well, i dont know those children. Morgan and sarah, do not be alarmed, your children are not satan! They are, however, very hyper (most of the time).

I admit it too. I love staying home with my kids. I love seeing them wake up in the morning and getting kisses. I adore watching all their firsts happen and doing fun art activities. I hate messes, but it's all part of the fun. I woudln't mind it if I could get a maid every once in a while to help with all the dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, etc.

Right on woman! It took me a while to figure out that my 'dream job' involved staying home with kids, baking break and vacumming! You're my hero!

Weird. But wonderful. Most of the time. :)

Why do you think I nanny? Although, I often feel ashamed of my feminist self, too, for entertaining thoughts of staying at home someday. However, "That day is not to-day."

(A million points if you can guess what book that's from.)
