So, remember

a while ago when I mentioned an email that was going to change my life?

Well.

It did.

So, now I can with confidence announce, after 18 weeks of exhaustive searching, praying, pondering, literal sleepless nights, more praying, interviews and finally a decision that:

We are having this baby at home.

PHEW! Ridiculous how hard that was to decide. And it took SO LONG to find a midwife that suited us for many MANY reasons of which I spare you the sordid details. But, suffice it to say that we are at peace with this choice. It is the right thing for us.

And my mom knows and so I feel all right about blogging about it. :) I wanted to tell her to her face. (Love you Ma!)

So, there you are. Our big news. And we are quite happy about it.

Thank you.

Oh my gosh that is AWESOME! I'm jealous! I can't wait to hear the whole birth story. You are going to do wonderfully.

Neat! I'm curious what the email was. :) You'll do fabulously. I keep having thoughts of wanting to have this one at home, just because it sounds so much nicer to not have to travel at all after the birth and be able to welcome her into a warm environment. If we were any closer to a hospital for emergencies and it weren't our first baby I'd really be considering it seriously. The birthing center is the next best thing in terms of welcoming environment to me. So you're not crazy--or at least not any more than a lot of people. I think it makes you very cool. :)

Hooray!!!
I'm SO excited for you! I never thought too much about having a baby at home, but if anybody can do it, you can.

How about you have the next one at the Taint? :D
May as well, it's kinda like home.

PS--
Kayla and I still think that when Zoltron III comes out, he should be Phillip.

Cool, Morgs! Marcelo's cousin has 7 kids. The first 6 were born in a hospital, and the 7th was born at home, in the bathtub. She says she wishes she would have done the first 6 like that. (PS, this lady doesn't even look like she's even had ONE kid, let alone 7. Crazy.)

I can't wait to hear how it goes. I'm sure it'll be great.

Woohoo for you! Now, where are the Halloween pictures? Since I live in big, dumb Phoenix and, therefore, do not get to participate in family fun, I rely on blogs to feel like I am part of the fam...cry...cry...so, pictures! Please!

I am very sorry everyone, but Morgan is not allowed to post her awesome homebirth birth story here. I do not need anything making me think I want to have my future babies at home (my hubby would leave me, my mom disown me, and my sister(s) smack me). ;)

Maren- you already know I'll lie and tell you it sucked. But you'll know I'm lying, and I'm not liable for husband-leaving, mother-disowning issues on your part. ;)
