Do you...

close the door when you use the bathroom? At HOME of course...

I don't. At least not when Derek's not home. (We have a no-potty-party-pact in our marriage.)

Don't act all disgusted. WHY would I close the door? The moment I do, my children's "Mommy radar" starts beeping like crazy. You know the one, the moment you get on the phone or computer, or need to GO TO THE BATHROOM they go crazy and start needing you and your undivided attention right this minute. I got a doula-related phone call today and was trying desperately to hide from my children. Henry kept following me ON HIS TRIKE yelling, "MOMMY! I MISS YOU!" Seriously. I don't make this stuff up.

So, since my children simply can't bear to be apart from me whilst taking a potty-break, I don't shut the door.

I used to try. But little fingers would appear under the door, wiggling in hopes of magically opening the door. And cries and yells of "MOOOOOMMMMMMMYYYYY!" made me insane! So, I'd rather just leave the door open. Then, oddly enough, they leave me alone, mostly. They might pop in for a moment, just to check, but then they are on their way. I have two whole minutes to go to the bathroom, generally uninterruppted.

It's strange, really, how their little minds work.

haha, this is kind of a funny topic! :) Mike and I also have a no potty party pact but I always leave the door open, he will come in and talk to me while going but I'm not allowed in when its his turn. haha. During the day when Mike is gone I have two little girly friends in there with me, Kaylee is quiet interested in what I'm doing and trys to get a peek. haha.

My 2 year old plays peek-a-boo with me during my quiet time. He never misses a chance. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with no privacy.

I wish I could tell you that I have no idea what you're talking about, but that would be a lie. When I close the bathroom door, my daughter freaks out in a totally unattractive way. :)

It's just life, but it's still really funny what happens when you're a mother...

It is so true. We don't have a no potty party pact in our house unlease its stinky. Then its, viewer discretion advised and the user must use febreeze or something else as well as open a window. But the girls rarely give privacy to me and Jason and I could care less. Bodily functions are a part of life.

Subsequently, Lilly knows all about periods and has told me that she doesn't want to get bigger and become ready to be a mommy because its more fun to be a kid. At least we are in agreeance on that part.

Hooray! I'm not the only one! Although, Dave is trying to teach Devin about privacy so when Devin is home I shut the door. If it is Isabelle and me, then I don't care. Hopefully seeing me go helps her to want to continue to in the potty and not her underpants. We should start the Potty Party Pact group or something on facebook. One of those random things that we just cannot deny.

ha ha, i close the door but it bugs Brian so he finds all of the things in the kitchen that he can slip under the door and shoots them through and tries to hit me....
