Head injuries

They happen ALL the time around these parts. Seriously. I have lost count of the times I have worried about one of my boys and their brains. Bumps, cuts, bruises, or a combination are simply a part of our lives around here. I have made many a trip to the ER and/or urgent care in my nearly four years of being a mother to sons. And when I went the very first time, the cute nurse assured me I'd be back many, many, MANY times with all those boys running around.

It's not so much an "if" as it is a "when."

Kind of like getting sideswiped on the highway here in Vegas... but I digress.

So, when Spencer cracked his head open the other, at my parents' house, I was non-plussed. It wasn't deep at all, or even that wide, I could see just by looking at it that it didn't need stitches. At best, they'd just superglue it back together. Meh.

So, instead, I got a clean sock, balled it up, and tied it to his head with a tie of my sweater. Worked like a charm.

When we got home that night, we wanted to keep it dry in the bath, since my good friend had kindly bandaged it up real nice.

And to get Spencer to wear his shower cap, we assigned one to EACH child.

It was priceless funni-ness, I tell you what. SO cute.

Here's the photographic bit of future blackmail. Poor Oliver got stuck with pink.

From October 2009
CUTENESS x 3.

And in other news, wanna hear about my back? OF COURSE YOU DO!

It's MUCH better. In fact it has improved so much in the last three or so days, I'd almost say it was thanks to Day Light Savings Time. But, of course, I won't.

Wanna hear about my car? OF COURSE YOU DO!
It's awesome. Thanks. It'll be in the shop until NEXT Friday, as in November 13th. And in the meantime, I get to drive a Dodge Charger.

I don't like it, but at least I'm not paying for it. Well, I am, but it'll be in monthly increments known as "Insurance premiums" until I die.

Thanks Vegas Drivers. YOU ROCK!

And Oliver is now awake, so with that, I bid you adieu.

Poor guy. :o( But I love how crafty you got! Hannah is the only one we have had to take to urgent care. Sorry about your car! Did you have to replace carseats and everything?

Cute kids. Really darling. Where did you get 3 shower caps? I think those pictures have to be in the 'do you really REALLY REALLY want to marry......' file for future daughters in law.

Reva-yes I'm official!
Jen- nope we do not have to replace car seats. Yay!
Jauna-no, we didn't end up shaving it. It's looking better.
Mom-i have been carrying around those shower caps since I directed Grease. 4 moves and three years later they finally came in handy.

We were just in Vegas and my husband is convinced they're the stupidest drivers ever. Do you notice that they drive right in your blind spot all the time? Happened over and over.

And I love the shower caps, that was a brilliant moment.

Morgan, I finally decided to come back to the blogging world after all of those letters you sent me begging and pleading for me to come back.
I can't believe your kids! Wow! I haven't been gone that long have I? They are huge? It looks like you are seriously busy!
