Waiting on the world

Waiting stinks. All our lives we're waiting for someone, something. There's just no way around it.

Right now:

I'm waiting for Oliver to fall asleep.

I'm waiting to fit in my size 8's. (sigh, I'm working on it...)

I'm waiting for Derek to come home.

I'm waiting for a lot of things these days. Derek is waiting on petty, unimportant things like a job, a dissertation (double sigh), a JOB, oh wait, I mentioned that one already.

And I'm not the most patient person on the planet.

Again, I say, waiting stinks. We're putting in the effort. And then we wait. We file papers, we make calls, we say a prayer and then we wait.

As they say, timing is everything. Things are maybe, perhaps starting to come together for us, but we just can't know for sure. So, we must wait. AND WAIT.

And while we wait, time flies.

Oliver is four weeks old today. And isn't he cute?

And yesterday morning, Spencer requested cereal. Special K to be exact. And so, I went and got it, and found this:

What is that? A toy school bus, of course.

And now, don't go buy 10 boxes to win this sweet prize at the bottom, because mine was exclusive. There are no others like it. Mostly because one of my children did that. I'm not sure when or how, but they did. Weird kids.

So, while you wait for whatever it is that you're waiting for. (It's always something isn't it?) I hope you don't get impatient like I am. Good luck with that.

Exactly, I'm not wishing my life away, believe me. :) We're just waiting.

Oh little Boo-Boo you have never been patient and that lack of patience has in times gone by made you a patient... As in a doctor's patient. As in getting your head sewed up more than once. Waiting also means experiencing the calm before the storm, and after. Waiting for a beautiful sunset or as new mom's know, a beautiful sunrise... Waiting for first words and first steps. Waiting for understanding and perspective. Waiting for wisdom. Waiting for the sweet sites and smells of Spring after a cold still Winter. Waiting for old friends to return and the chance to make new ones. Waiting for new experiences, insights and understanding. Waiting for the soft whisperings of inspiration. Waiting while often difficult, usually brings us to all the wonderful things of life. Waiting for more patience... Love to all
