Our new friend...

Her name is Skinny Minnie. We call her Minnie for short.

She is an exercise bike.

See, a week or so ago, I turned to my darling husband and declared with great conviction, "DEREK! I am fat."

He answered beautifully, "No, you're not, you're pregnant."

Of course I had a retort, "And what shall be my excuse when I'm not pregnant anymore?"

And so we discussed workout potential. We both acknowledged our need for exercise, and lamented the difficulty in attaining it. We can't join a gym, or run outside.

So, that left purchasing something for in-home. Treadmills are pricey and really, I don't believe elipticals do a danged thing for me.

So, we found Minnie.

Minnie came from Craig's List. She was livin' in some dude's storage unit. She is brand new!

Minnie is skinny. She is lightweight and fits right next to my TV. So, I have to stare at her all day. If I don't ride, I know it, and she knows it. She taunts me. So, I haul my pregnant self over to her and ride 5 miles. That is all the more my pregnant tushie can take. (I spent $30 on a gel seat cover, and it's the only thing that makes it tolerable.)

When I'm done being preggo, my goal is 20 miles in 20 minutes. But, that'll have to be a while after the baby is born because, YOWZAH that'll really hurt post-baby.

It's so great. I love her. I hate her, but I love her.

I need a Minnie!!

Maybe I'll head on over to Craig's List once we have a bigger place. (Because even if Minnie is skinny, there's no place to put her in our eensy weensy apartment.)

Oh...we bought a Minnie when I was last preggo, too! And we sold it shortly after...hahaha...on Craigslist. I tell ya...the couple that got it, got one heck of a deal! I hope you feel more motivated than I was :-)

And I've never seen you look fat in your life...

Good for you Boo! I can't excersise at home I think it is awkard and I end up being a lazy excersier. That is why I like the SUU gym cheap and convient. Let me know how Minnie works!

Becky- yeah, we just had to move a bookcase to make room.

Alisa- I'm hoping to stay motivated. We shall see.

Erin- I repeat Craigs.LIST! Love it. Try it. Could you stick a bike next to your TV?

P.S. Randomly while talking one day about being "round" after having babies Brian pointed out that you have had 2 kids in 3 years and you are not round... Not even close. Which means now I have no excuse to be round after having babies because we are sisters and share genetics so I can't blame that... :-)

Kelsey- I'm not a video, at home work out kind of girl. But, again, I have to stare at Minnie. So it's good.

Kelsey- remind your dear husband that even if you are round, he has to love you anyway. HAHAHAHAH!

Good for you!! You beat me to buying an exercise machine--I need to just get something! That's a good point about having it right where you can see it!

Jen, we considered storing it in our guest room, but don't even open that door everyday, so like I'd ride! HA! Probably not.

And truthfully, Jen, you were the one who inspired us. :)

My Minnie is called a Gazelle. I totally feel for you.

I have a Gazelle too. It sits in my bedroom, where I seem to spend most of my time while at home, and I also have to stare at it if I'm not on it. It's working!
