So, this morning, I was watching the news and suddenly saw something AMAZING!
I called to Derek to come and see. We watched together, both oohing and ahhing.
What were we watching?
Snow. Falling in buckets in Chicago.
I realize I have a psychological disorder. It's okay.
I miss the snow. I miss the cold. I miss hot chocolate and warm fires.
"Wanna hop a plane to Chicago and get a hotel and just watch the snow fall?" I asked.
"Sure, except I have to work."
Ahh, man, there's always something.
The highlight of the news was seeing that it was -26 in North Dakota. We were jealous.
I feel like we live in Australia. While all my friends in the north are freezing their tushies off, we're enjoying 65 degrees, cloudless and sunny.
We're playing outside all day long! And ya'll up north are frozen inside your houses.
See? I live on the wrong side of the equator.
But, in three months, your summer will begin and my hotter-than-heck season begins. THAT is when I migrate to the McDonalds playland on a daily basis. Because while you're all out enjoying the sunshine, I'm baking in the heat.
We're bass-ackwards.
The grass is always greener on the other side, isn't it? Well, except here. Here, the grass is ALWAYS greener than it is at your house, because it's synthetic.
Seriously.

Since I am NOT a fan of cold weather, I would happily trade you places. Or more like our family trade places. I would miss my husband and kiddos too much if just you and I traded:)
And I would agree with you having a psychological disorder. I am ready for spring. (Maybe it is just because I am tired of the ice on the inside of my single pane windows-argh!)
And I always enjoy reading your blog-even if I don't comment every time.
Yes, Diane, it's better if we don't "wife swap." HAHAH!
I need a blog update from you. :)
Yay, we are the ones drowning in the Chicago snow! Every morning we figure out which whitr mound is our car. My latest post on my personal blog is all about the snow. We're going to ID for two months if you want to come house sit and enjoy the snow!
I lived in Russia for 2.5 years, and just got back to Texas in June. I miss the cold and snow, but 80 degrees on Christmas Day is nice too.
I'm so glad you commented on my blog. I have always wanted to be a doula. Pregnancy and babies and satisfying births have always been my passion. My personal birth experiences were quite traumatic, unfortunately, but could not be helped. I watched the video on your site of the woman singing, and I cried the entire time. That is what childbirth should be like, and I hope one day to do the same thing you are doing.
I would die if I didn't get some cold weather. I'm the only person who weeps a little when the Utah winter thaw starts. I LOVE COLD SNOW.
Lynn- I thought of you guys while we watched the news.
Natalie- Thanks for visiting. Feel free to email me if you have any thoughts or questions on the doula front. doula@simplybeautifulbirthing.com
and again, I hope the vomit doesn't continue.
Annie- I know and people think we're weird. Trust me. :)
Synthetic grass...oh...so so so so funny. And yes, it is morbid that you want cold weather. I guess you always want what you can't have...even if it is synthetic...
Hi Morgan! You are just like Ephraim. He loves cold weather! I will never understand it. I am just fine without the cold and snow. We still get snow up here in Northern Nevada though. I have read a little bit of your blog and it is so fun! I wish I had time to read all of it. I am sorry you have so much from your grandmas to be superwoman. That really sucks. I am grateful that my parents are happy if I brush my teeth. You amaze me Morgan! I don't care what your workaholic grandparents say! Don't let them get you down! I give you permission to just relax. By the way, how do you get a meter set up to see who visits your blog? That is cool. I hope you are doing well. We should be coming down to Vegas pretty soon to see my sister and would love to get together!
You're seriously messed up, just so you know. Cold weather sucks.
Alisa- and the grass is EXPENSIVE! I always wonder if people water their fake grass, just to dust it off, you know.
Roxy- Facebook me when you're coming and we MUST see you! No options.
Kara- I fully acknowledge my disorder. I know it. I like it. :)
Boo Boo Head: Did you read our blog? WHo posted the stuff about Wisconsin? Anyway, it'll make you homesick like it did us!
