I haven't taken a single Tylenol PM since I had Henry, three years ago.
Until last night.
See, when I'm pregnant, the headaches I get are nearly daily and the kind that kick me flat on my back. NOT COOL. So, I woke up yesterday with said headache (can I just say that waking up with a headache is just plain cruel) and dealt with it getting increasingly painful ALL. DAY. LONG.
I stuck my kids in bed at 7pm and then... by 8:30 I caved. I took 2 tylenol pm, which is 1 more than a pregnant girl is supposed to take and 2 more than I've had in three years.
A brief pause to tell you WHY I haven't had any sleep aid/pain relievers in so long. My kids haven't both slept through the night, EVER. I couldn't ever trust that they'd stay asleep and not scream. I am terrified that I'd sleep right through any trauma or drama that they'd have. Derek does not wake up for kids. I have no idea how the man sleeps through it, but he's talented, I guess. My kids NOW for the most part do sleep through the night. So, it's not as scary.
Anyway, back to the story. I took 2 tylenol pm and went to bed. The next thing I was aware of was Henry staring at me 6:30 this morning.
WOW. Who knew? I was out cold all night long! The last time I slept that well was at the Star Lite Motel in West Virginia, 7 years ago. I took 3 tylenol pm that time.
It was a beautiful gift. And the best part, this morning, NO HEADACHE! It's a miracle.

Can you really take Tylenol PM when you are pregnant? I get some hefty back problems when I'm pregnant. It would be nice to have some options...
Yup, Kari- you can take ONE regular strength tylenol pm. I was naughty, i took two, and it was absolutely FABULOUS!
It sounded like it was worth it!
Those headaches really don't sound like any fun! If you warn to mix it up you could try Unisom. It's a sleep aid that my midwife recommended for morning sickness during my first pregnancy. Half a tablet works great for me, and it's supposed to be safe during pregnancy. I like Tylenol PM, too. :) Good luck!!
Mmm, Tylenol PM sounds nice. Sadly, Grant doesn't sleep through the night yet and John doesn't wake up for crying children either (ugh, what is that all about?).
You are a strong woman!! I take any opportunity I can to pop some pills.
Okay, that didn't sound so good...
If I have a headache, I know that it's not going away on its own; I just take the pills so I'm not worrying about it all day. I don't really like that I do that, but I do it.
Lynn- does unisom kick headaches too??
Becky- LOL at you pill-popping ways.
Kara- I know! Derek always says, "JUST WAKE ME UP!" but, I'm not gonna. What's the point, I'm already awake?
You can take those? I'm pregnant too and get headaches every day. All I do is drink MT. Dew. Can you really take those? I need one if so.
