Hark! The out-of-doors

We have discovered that during the early-ish morning hours and early-ish evening hours that our front yard area is shaded. (I'm sure it's partly to do with it being mid-September.) So, happily in the last couple of days, we have been able to return to playing outside a bit. It's been three weeks since my kids have done anything outside except walk from the house to the car, from the car to the store, etc...

This morning, we ventured about just after 8:00. It was hot already but in the shade plenty tolerable. The boys have not enjoyed being locked in the house for weeks on end.

A very happy Spencer

Henry at the playground. The only problem is that Spencer insists on trying to EAT the woodchips. YUCK!

"The slide's not too hot, Mom!" YAY! Finally!

Spencer going from grass to sidewalk, which is a challenge.

Eventually, it did get too hot and sweaty, but again, any amount of outside they can get, we'll take. Now, it's WAY to hot for the rest of the day. :)

Is there a reason the layout of your blog changes on a daily basis? :-)

Ummm...did you know that I don't even own a pair of shorts? And I haven't had a tan in over 6 years?

Hmmm....so hard to imagine life in Vegas...

Oh, we've missed the out-of-doors too! Thank goodness it's been getting better here though. I'm trying to decide which would be worse, dry Vegas/Arizona/etc heat or nasty Texas heat and humidity. All I know is it's SO nice to be able to take Andrew out to play now.

So, in that last picture, Spencer looks more than a little drunk. :-)

Couldn't Spence have just learned to walk like a week or so earlier? Sheesh. We Wisconsinites miss so much! Kayla and I mused over going to Vegas for Spring Break the other day. Not sure how possible it would be, but I'd love to just the same.
