Anyway, my fourth was born 3 weeks ago, and it was the most bizarre ridiculous labor pattern I've ever seen. My poor doula, who is basically a midwife, had no idea what to do with me! I was a pretty big whiner, especially after I labored for almost 12 hours, pushed 2 separate times, and was only dilated to a 4. Need to write the birth story, but I'm still processing.

Bah. Who needs to sneeze their baby out anyway? Luckily, after his crazy labor, he's a mellow, laid back baby who actually sleeps. Didnt know they actually made those!Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05187291686384680925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7989676854656500628.post-83246931636008042112010-12-12T09:26:18.518-08:002010-12-12T09:26:18.518-08:00Holy cow what a birth. I'm 2 centimeters , 60% effaced and having irregular contractions every day, but that usually means at least 2 more weeks for me! Could be different this time though I guess!

Congrats! Bet you're glad to have him out.Yasminehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05398489303284629704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7989676854656500628.post-72385338172570296482010-12-09T19:06:17.050-08:002010-12-09T19:06:17.050-08:00.....and also what a beautiful sweet baby and fami........and also what a beautiful sweet baby and family! Well, I'm glad you survived the pain, and tried a home "dry" birth, too! Now you can understand both sides of things...! YAY!! Your aunt sent me the link to your birth story because she knew how much of a birth junkie I was. (I am a doula, have been involved in midwifery here for 5 years and have 5 children- several born at home)

What a great story- you definitely have a talent for storytelling. It's amazing how one birth can be so different than your others.Cortneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03752167518059988264noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7989676854656500628.post-86192651988527731522010-12-08T16:31:31.146-08:002010-12-08T16:31:31.146-08:00Yes, that is quite the birth story! And you are a little bit spoiled, but just a little bit. ;) (Of course I'm speaking from the perspective of someone whose third baby was 10 days late with a 13 hour labor.... If we should happen to have a fourth kid, I will bet you $20 right here and now that said fourth baby will be late and still have a 10+ hour labor.) Adorable baby boy, by the way, but I'd expect nothing less!McEuenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11491956699125295640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7989676854656500628.post-14465067825354156522010-12-08T16:24:20.336-08:002010-12-08T16:24:20.336-08:00I think that was a great birth story. I was reading this while at work and I kept laughing, so I probably looked like an idiot (what's new). Anyway, I obviously don't have 4 kids, but I remember being annoyed that Grant's birth took just as long as Andrew's, because I thought 2nd births were supposed to be faster. The pushing was WAY quicker with Grant though, thank goodness. Anyway, congratulations! What a cute bunch of boys you have. The Nelsen Family:https://www.blogger.com/profile/15063330259057430559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7989676854656500628.post-70409523805559861642010-12-08T15:41:48.020-08:002010-12-08T15:41:48.020-08:00Morgan, he is so adorable! My birth was longer with Jack, WAY longer. It had it's reasons, totally different than yours (ya know b/c I get all drugged up and all that jazz, lol), but Spencer's birth, I went into labor on my own 11 days early, and it was like 3 hours. Jack's had a lot of factors, but it was 8 hours! Ugh! I feel the pain of a longer labor. :)
He's adorable, and I'm so so happy for you, and I want to cry seeing your tiny baby. I want mine now!! Lol. :) Congrats!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07163982079750442763noreply@blogger.com
